Allow "Call Using iPhone" from FaceTime App

Post by jasmas » Wed Apr 29, 2015 10:13 pm

I'm trying to add rules to support the "Call Using iPhone" feature of FaceTime on modern installs of OS X connected to an iPhone with handoff. I can't find any documentation on the communication required for this feature to work. It's clear that Murus blocks something that prevents this feature from working, but I'm unable to find anything that seems related blocked in the logs.

Has anyone else attempted to get this feature working through a default block policy on a pf firewall?

hello jasmas
to use handsoff on yosemite with Murus 1.1.2 you must check that:
1) both osx and ios devices are connected to the same subnet
2) put DYNAMIC PORTS in murus inbound and assign both IPv6-net and your subnet group to the allowed groups

You don't need to add any custom rule to use handsoff, I'm using it on a daily basis and definitely works with the default configuration (you can restore it from "Firewall" menu).
