Murus to configure bandwidth to local server

Post by luis » Mon Jul 27, 2015 6:46 am

Hi,

I'm trying out Murus, I downloaded the basic edition and would like to do some traffic shaping for a service that is running locally. This is what I'm trying to achieve with Murus:

Code: Select all

echo "dummynet in quick proto tcp from localhost to localhost port 8443 pipe 1" | sudo pfctl -f -
dnctl pipe 1 config delay 150
I've followed the instructions in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t48YVdVcZQ but I can not for the life of me get this to work. If I edit pf.conf by hand instead of using Murus it does work.

Any tips on what I need to do to make this work?

Hello

With Murus Lite (the free version) you can't, you need Murus Basic or Murus Pro, because you need to add a custom rule.

Murus Lite can only issue those 2 types of rule,

Code: Select all

dummynet out proto tcp from any to any port 8443 pipe 1

Code: Select all

dummynet in proto tcp from any port 8443 to any pipe 1
what you need is a mix of the two.
