Murus Services

Post by RamonManuel » Tue Apr 05, 2016 6:28 am

Aloha,

I am having trouble with Murus Services not starting VPN at "system boot".

It starts when I open the application and hit start.

Thanks,

Ramón

Can you please tell me some more about your configuration? OS X version?

Aloha,

I'm running El Capitan (10.11.4). I have both Murus Pro and Little Snitch installed, and I turned off password authentication in ssh (only keys).

Anything else you need?

Thanks,

Ramón

Ramón,

you were absolutely right, VPN daemon does not start automatically on 10.11.4. Sorry about that.
Look, I will release an updated Murus Service version but I have to test all different OS X releases so it takes time.
While waiting for the new release, you can fix the issue manually editing a text file.

You have to edit file:

Code: Select all

/etc/servicevpn.sh
Delete everything in the file and copy/paste this code:
#!/bin/sh
#
# vpnd startup script for OS X 10.9, 10.10 and 10.11
#
# V 1.1
#

#
# We need to trap on TERM signals, according to Apple's launchd docs:
#
trap 'exit 1' 15

#
# Use the "ipconfig waitall" command to wait for all the interfaces to come up:
#
ipconfig waitall
sleep 45

#
# enable vpn daemon
#

sudo /usr/sbin/vpnd
syslog -s -l warning "Murus Services: vpnd started"

sleep 5
# Exit with a clean status
exit 0
VPN daemon start will be delayed 45 seconds as you can guess from the code. You are free to play with this value.
I hope it works for you, if not please let me know.
