Re: VALLUM 3.0 PUBLIC BETA 3 RELEASED
Hello.
I am trying out Vallum 3.0 Public Beta 3 on macOS 10.13.3. On the whole I am very happy with the way it works, but I have a problem with one of the apps I use. It's called "ff•Works" (from http://www.ffworks.net). The app does not launch if Vallum is active (the app icon appears in the dock but the app does not open in its window); as soon as I disable Vallum, the app window opens, and I can reactivate Vallum. The app works fine with Vallum active until I quit it. When I want to launch it again, I have to temporarily disable Vallum just for the launching of the app. I have configured to open all communications on port 80 for the app (/Applications/ff•Works.app), and to ask for all other communications, but that did not solve my problem. Vallum asked about a strangely named app "/Applications/ff¬¨,àëWorks.app" wanting to use port 80. I allowed that, but that did not solve my problem, either. I allowed all communications on all ports to all addresses for those two applications in Vallum, but the problem remain unchanged. However, if I disable WiFi (so there is no internet connection), the app launches just fine with Vallum active. Clearly ff•Works tries to communicates out if internet connection is available, and Vallum/afw is blocking that. But I cannot figure out what exactly is being blocked. Nothing shows up in the log and no notification or dialogue box. The app ff•Works is a shareware. If you can download it from the link above, you can use it for up to 10 launches for free. I think you will be able to see my problem on your computer. I hope you can resolve this issue, because it is annoying. Thank you.

Re: VALLUM 3.0 PUBLIC BETA 3 RELEASED
Developers please start giving stronger sha256sums and VirusTotal analysis URL, like TransmisionBT does ?????
We must avoid this similar disaster situation,
https://www.macrumors.com/2016/03/07/tr ... 500-times/
I cannot trust your site isn't hacked for downloads. MD5 may be fake. Your software has full system control with kext so I must be sure its legit.
You see how their downloads page is safer now?
https://transmissionbt.com/download/
Github is even used for the safest download server
https://github.com/transmission/transmi ... n-2.93.dmg
Mozilla company also give sha256sums for their Firefox browser
https://releases.mozilla.org/pub/firefo ... SHA256SUMS
So we all know...
### Step 1 - Authenticate sha256sum ###
Open Terminal from /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
Use this command, but replace the file path at the end with your own path
The returned output will look like...
### Step 2 - Authenticate by VirusTotal as extra precaution ###
1. Upload .dmg to VirusTotal website
https://www.virustotal.com/en/#file
2. Get the analysis URL...
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/3435 ... /analysis/
3. Once it has uploaded people can search for it with checksum, no need to upload whole file again
Please give us all this info like Transmission BT does!
