Murus and ExpressVPN (again)

Post by GreatOutdoors » Wed May 09, 2018 9:25 am

I am a real novice with firewall issues, but I really like the look of Murus so far and I’m pleased I purchased it.

However, I do not know how best to setup ExpressVPN with Murus. PLEASE can someone help?
I tried following the youtube video but that telephone icon does not appear in my Murus.

What does happen though, is my “Incoming” traffic has a “PORT_2015” icon which must have “Everyone” in “Allowed Groups” for ExpressVPN to be able to connect. Doesn’t seem like a proper solution.

As I said, I am a novice, and would really appreciate some step by step assistance if possible.

Many thanks.

Restore Murus default configuration in "Strategies" -> "Easy" view, then open Murus Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck the "Skip loopback interface" option, then click PLAY in Murus toolbar to update pf runtime rules. This is everything you need to allow ExpressVPN to connect. Then, if you want to restrict access you have to look for "utun1" interface, this is the interface used by ExpressVPN.
